MOBILE STUDIO:
Since 2010, Photographer Jack Hutchhas been driving to shoots notfromhis studio, but in it. His customized Mobile Studio van (a sleek Mercedes Sprinter) has spring folding shelves that hold 600 pounds of equipment, a power inverter, portable fridge, quick release seats for assistants (or lack thereof) and two portable generators.
Why the Studio -to go? ” A few years ago I noticed clients needs for a Library of images for there business,” says Jack. “My clients don’t have time to travel to a shoot. Now I can come to them. With the power source, we can view and edit anywhere on the fly. And since I have everything with me we can accomplish so much in one day. Interior on seamless, exterior lifestyle, we just jump around.
The Sleep and Shoot…sometimes it’s the only way. Jack and his Van have shot up, down and throughout Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington into California and Beyond covering everything from quick headshots to big scale productions with 20+ talent, full crew and client tagging along. He’s even slept in it on occasion, like when a shoot required a 4am call time up dark and treacherous backroads. “I call it the Sleep and Shoot,” he says. “Sometimes it’s the only way.
